The Valley Weekly uses a small set of cookies and similar browser storage. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising or share cookie data with third parties for marketing. The full list is below, with what each one does and how long it sticks around.

Strictly necessary

These cookies are required for the site to work. They cannot be turned off.

• Cookie consent record · stores your choice on the consent banner so we do not re-ask you on every page. Persists for 12 months.
• Admin session · only set if you log into the admin area. Stores a signed session token so we know who is editing. Persists for 30 days or until logout.
• Subscribe-form CSRF · short-lived cookie tying a subscribe form submission to the page that rendered it, to block automated spam signups.

Analytics (optional)

If you have opted into analytics in the consent banner, the site uses lightweight first-party analytics to understand which pages get traffic. Aggregate counts only, no per-user behavioral profiles.

• Session counter · a single anonymized ID that distinguishes one visit from another. Expires when you close the browser.

Email tracking

Emails we send through Resend include a tracking pixel and wrapped links. When you open an email or click a link, Resend records the event and reports it back to us. This is described in more detail in our Privacy Policy. You can effectively opt out by configuring your email client to block remote images (which blocks the pixel) and by reading the email rather than clicking through (which avoids the wrapped-link redirect).

What we do not use

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, Facebook Pixel, Google Ads tracking, retargeting pixels, or any cross-site behavioral tracking technology. We have no plans to add them.
